San Pietro have added both the Coppa Vaticana (Coppa Sergio Valci) and the Supercoppa Vaticana to their league championship success; they won the Coppa Vaticana after defeating Dirtel by 3 goals to 2 in the play-off final on 3/6/14, and five days later defeated Dirtel again to lift the Supercoppa.
Last season's surprise winners, Fortitudo 2007, crashed out in the group stage, losing all three games by the odd goal.
San Pietro have now won each of the last five competitions under the auspices of the ACDV, their first success coming after defeating Pantheon SD 2:1 in the 2013 league championship play-off final. They also won last year's Supercoppa against Fortitudo 2007 by the same score, and defeated Dirtel 3:1 in this year's edition.
